AYRTON SENNA HIGHWAY
Currently Rodovia Ayrton Senna (Ayrton Senna Highway), it was opened in 1982, with features considered even more advanced than those in the Bandeirantes Highway and in the ascending lanes of the Imigrantes Highway.
Among other facilities, the highway offers the SAU – Sistema de Ajuda ao Usuário (User Support System), available throughout the highway to help drivers with first aid and hoist services.
Additionally, DERSA has employed creative technological solutions to overcome the challenge of building a highway in the marshy region formed by Rio Tietê’s channels, in which the Parque Ecológico do Tietê is located.
Covering a length of 48.4 kilometers, the highway crosses the municipalities of Guarulhos, Itaquaquecetuba, Mogi das Cruzes, and Guararema, going towards the Vale do Paraíba (Paraíba Valley) through Rodovia Governador Carvalho Pinto (Governador Carvalho Pinto Highway) (SP-070).
