Dom Pedro I Highway

It was managed by DERSA from February 1988 to April 2009, period during which it was duplicated and an access to the Governador Carvalho Pinto Highway was built. The highway helped reduce the traffic and the flow of products and goods between the Paraíba Valley and the Campinas metropolitan area, two important centers for the development of the state. It is part of the so-called Rota das Bandeiras (Bandeiras Route), which connects the state’s Northeast area via Rodovia dos Tamoios (Tamoios Highway).
