Reference in promptness, innovation and a pioneering spirit

Reduction in traffic congestions by diverting trucks from São Paulo metropolitan area, time and fuel savings and a drop from 6 to 8% in the emission of pollutants. These are some of the benefits to be delivered by one of the country’s most expected projects, the Northern Section of the Mario Covas Beltway. Covering a length of 44 kilometers, the Northern Section crosses the municipalities of São Paulo, Arujá, and Guarulhos and includes an exclusive 3.6-kilometer interconnection with the Guarulhos International Airport.


The Northern Section will converge with Avenida Raimundo Pereira Magalhães (SP-332) whereas, in the Eastern Section, it will converge with Rodovia Presidente Dutra - BR-116 (Presidente Dutra Highway). The Northern Beltway will have four lanes in each direction between the Western Beltway and the Rodovia Fernão Dias - BR-381 (Fernão Dias Highway) and three lanes in the section between Fernão Dias (BR-381) and Dutra (BR-116). On the total, the Northern Section will include 7 tunnels and 107 special engineering structures: 44 bridges and 63 overpasses. To learn more about the Mario Covas Beltway, click here

A highly complex project, the Mario Covas Beltway was especially designed to expedite the traffic flow in the city of São Paulo, divert heavy freight trucks and leave the city free for the collective and individual transport.

The beltway covers a length of 176.5 kilometers in the surroundings of São Paulo metropolitan area, interconnecting state and federal highways and diverting part of the traffic flow from the Marginais Tietê and Pinheiros (Tietê and Pinheiros Marginal Highways).
