The air transport industry drives the national and international tourism, attracts businesses and ventures, and creates jobs and taxes, that is, it is extremely important for the State and the country. DERSA develops important initiatives to promote the industry’s activities. An example is the Company’s participation in the project to adjust the Aeroporto Regional Leite Lopes (Leite Lopes Regional Airport), in the city of Ribeirão Preto, the state’s 4th busiest airport by passenger traffic, behind only the International Airports of Guarulhos, Congonhas, and Viracopos.
The initiative comprised the development of the project and the respective environmental license of the following infrastructure works:
- Displacement of the airport’s runway in 500 meters in the direction of Avenida Thomas Alberto Whatelly, and the consequent regularization of the area added to the airport site.
- Implementation of a new access road to the airport, including an underpass under Avenida Thomaz Alberto Whatelly and the adjustment of the existing surrounding road system through the expansion of the airport site.
